Silverpeak was founded on the belief that society benefits from a socially responsible approach to cannabis. As a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Silverpeak founder Jordan Lewis had studied pharmacology and was convinced of the medical benefits of cannabis. He was also frustrated that he could not obtain medical marijuana for his father’s cancer treatment. The legalization of medicinal marijuana in 2009 provided the long-awaited opportunity to open Silverpeak Apothecary. With Colorado’s 2013 approval of cannabis for personal enjoyment, Silverpeak found itself at the forefront of creating a new culture for cannabis. It was time to step into the light and restore cannabis to its rightful place among socially responsible adults.  They worked to expand and remodel the downtown store to create an inviting retail experience, the kind you would expect for fine wine. They also purchased the High Valley Farm in Basalt to house Silverpeak’s state-of-the-art 25,000 square foot greenhouse.
